Solutions developed by Agrokor’s mStart company might become a new standard in production and distribution sectors.
A well-known name in agriculture and trade, Agrokor now also wants to become a big player in the software industry in the coming years. Its IT company mStart has partnered up with Microsoft at the Windays conference in Poreč, reports poslovni.hr on April 29, 2016.
Mate Krpan, the CEO of mStart, said that their goal was to become the leader in the market and position their mCRM solution as a standard in the wholesale production and distribution of fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) in Croatia and the region. “Our projections for next year show that we will create four new implementations of mCRM. One or two of them will be inside Agrokor. According to our projections, we will also double the number of mCRM users”, Krpan explained.
Tatjana Lukić, Microsoft’s regional director for business solutions, said that their expectations regarding mCRM, which is based on Microsoft’s CRM technology, are much more ambitious. In the beginning, mStart will become Microsoft’s gold partner for CRM. Next, the company will help mStart to look for opportunities to market its mCRM solutions in the Adriatic area, and then in Eastern Europe.”The demand does exist – from the Baltic to the Mediterranean. These markets also have big business systems like Agrokor, and they have businesses which handle distribution and trade and are in need of solutions like this one”, Lukić added.
Microsoft assessments show that the world’s CRM market will grow to 37 billion dollars in the next year. “There are big players on the global CRM market, but rare are those who have adapted to a specific industry in the same way mStart’s mCRM has adapted to FMCG industry. This is why this could turn into a story similar to the one about Iceland’s LS Retail which had success in the POS segment and became a global standard in retail”, Lukić said.
Krpan explained that mCRM was developed because Agrokor needed it. Today, mCRM is used by Croatian companies like Ledo, Zvijezda, PIK Vrbovec and Jamnica.
