Travelling Within Croatia without All the Ticket-Buying Fuss

Total Croatia News

Even before the peak tourist season, Vollo.net recorded a growth of 400 percent.

Buying bus tickets before the travel often causes unnecessary stress. You have to choose the right company, compare the tickets, book them, get them before the departure, wait in line or be prepared to pay cash. The new Internet service Vollo.net helps users avoid all this and get the process done in just a few clicks via a computer or cell phone. Vollo.net has gathered in one place all the leading bus operators who transport passengers within Croatia, but in the near future the service will be extended to cover the region and to include other forms of inter-city transport, explained Marko Jukić and Darko Škulj, co-founders of the service. “We, too, travel very often and therefore we recognized problems faced by all the users of the bus services, as well as other forms of transport, and we decided to solve them”, they added, reports Poslovni.hr on July 6, 2016.

“Bus companies are well aware of the digitalization of the market and new trends in travel so they have welcomed our solution. Currently, we have established a business cooperation with over 80% of bus companies in Croatia who immediately recognized the benefits of this type of the ticket-selling system”, said Marko Jukić, executive director of this service who had previously worked at the world’s largest eCommerce incubator, Rocket Internet.

The simple and intuitive interface optimized for all devices is the responsibility of Darko Škulj, an award-winning UX/UI designer who came to this startup after working for some of leading Croatian companies for mobile and web solutions – Five and Infinum. He announced the release of both Android and iOS applications that will make Vollo.net be even more accessible and easy to use.

Current trends in the world show that buying tickets online is getting increasingly popular, while in Croatia the trend has yet to take hold, so the goal of this young team is very ambitious – to digitalize the entire ticket purchasing sector. The first results are more than impressive and this is reflected in the fact that even before the peak tourist season they recorded a growth of 400 percent!
