Good news for Makarska!
As Poslovni Dnevnik reports on the 17th of August, 2017, the Director of Hotel Makarska Joško Lelas says that local hotels “Meteor”, “Dalmacija” and “Rivijera” will achieve record tourism results this year.
This past Tuesday, Makarska recorded this year’s millionth overnight stay, a number which arrived eight days earlier than it did last year, as reported on Wednesday by the Makarska Tourist Board.
The Director of the Makarska Tourist Board, Tonči Lalić, is very pleased with this year’s tourist season.
”With regard to the seven-month tourist balance, the current availability of accommodation capacities as well as the arrivals and reservations for the summer, this year it is expected that we will generate up to 1.4 million overnights in the city,” Lalić said.
By the end of July this year, Makarska saw 137 thousand visitors, realising 795 thousand overnight stays, so tourist arrivals were 16 percent higher than they were during the same period last year, and 17 percent higher when it comes to overnight stays.
Today, Makarska is hosting more than 15.5 thousand domestic and foreign guests, so hotels remain completely full, and private accommodation is still recommended.
