ZAGREB, January 22, 2018 – European Union member states’ foreign ministers on Monday briefly talked about the murder of Kosovo Serb politician Oliver Ivanović, asking for a swift investigation and the continuation of dialogue between the two sides, Croatian Foreign Minister Marija Pejčinović Burić said in Brussels.
“The Kosovo issue and the murder that took place there were mentioned. The conclusion is a call to swiftly conduct an investigation, to restore the dialogue between Priština and Belgrade, and to make sure, as much as possible, that something like that doesn’t happen again, because that’s a dangerous precedent,” she said.
Ivanović, president of the Serbia, Democracy, Justice civil initiative, was assassinated in Kosovska Mitrovica last week.
The EU foreign ministers also discussed the situations in Iraq, Zimbabwe, Libya and Syria.
