Created by humans to deal with a human problem, the repercussions for non-humans were perhaps not thought about or considered irrelavent, but more than a year after Hungary erected its controversial wire fence on the border with Croatia, the animal toll continues to rise.
Celebrated Croatian photographer Mario Romulic has dedicated years of his life to documenting the wildlife of Kopacki Rit Nature Park and surrounding area, a region of astonishing beauty where wildlife has roamed freely for centuries.

As we recently featured on TCN (read the article here), Romulic has been following a large herd of deer for some time, and he explains the devastating consequences the fence has had on their migration patterns.
