Latest twist in the neverending saga.

HDZ will do everything to solve this problem as soon as possible. It would be best for the Prime Minister Orešković, Deputy Prime Minister Petrov and me to leave the government, to have new people at the top of the government and to continue”, said HDZ president Tomislav Karamarko on Wednesday late afternoon, reports Index.hr on June 8, 2016.

“The party that has the most MPs should give the new Prime Minister-designate. I am ready to give this post to anyone. The interests of the country are more important than interests of any individual. It is difficult at this moment, all options can be the open if we make a deal. But, the main thing is that we have to start working differently. HDZ must be respected, we cannot be a supporting structure for someone else. It is always possible to make a deal. With this shock we said – people, let’s stop, let’s get to work”, said Karamarko.

He added that all options were possible, but that it was highly unlikely they would give up on the motion of no confidence against Orešković.

He also commented on criticism expressed by HDZ’s members of European Parliament, saying that everyone has a right to their opinion. “There are decisions of party bodies that must be respected. Those of us who live in the country every day know what is going on”, he said.
