Croatia Votes: First Post-election Polls SDP and MOST are Rising, HDZ Slightly Down

SDP takes the lead for the first time since May 2014

According to the first post election CRO Demoskop public poll conducted by Promocija Plus on social and political preferences published on December 4, 2015, SDP (28,2%) has overtaken HDZ (27,6%) for the first time since May 2014, and the same trend is recorded when it comes to the two coalitions. Croatia is Growing (Hrvatska raste) is now leading with 30,3% in front of Patriotic Croatia with 29,4% while MOST is holding third position rising now to 15,4%.

When it comes to other parties that were competing in last month’s elections, Živi zid is on 3,3%, Milan Bandić 365 on 2,3%, IDS-PGS-LZR 1,8% just like ORaH while HDSSB has the support of 1,2% and Successful Croatia (Reformists) 1%.

When it comes to most positive politicians, President Kolinda Grabar Kitarović is in first place with 21,5%, current PM Zoran Milanović is second with 12,3 (14% in November so slight fall), while leader of MOST Božo Petrov is in third place with 10,8% (8,3% was recorded a month ago). HDZ leader Tomislav Karamarko is still the most negative politician in the country according to this poll (32,7%) followed by Zoran Milanović (26%), category “all politicians” came third with 12,6% while former PM Ivo Sanader came fourth just after his release from prison with 5,9%.

We have to stress that this poll was conducted as if Croatia was one electoral constituency.
