Another day, another disagreement between two ruling coalition partners.
The Mayor of Omiš and president of the MOST Parliamentary Group Ivan Kovačić said he was sorry that HDZ elected Ivan Škaričić as the new president of its Omiš branch, reports Jutarnji List on April 25, 2016.
Kovačić, who is very influential within MOST, said that it was a clear sign which way HDZ intends to go. “One who is not able to implement reforms within its own ranks is certainly not able to implement reforms for the general benefit of the whole society. As for me, further cooperation with HDZ at the national level is finished and is no longer possible. In Parliament, as well as in other bodies, they should not count on my support. MOST will make its decision known in the next few days”, said Kovačić.
According to media reports, MOST party president and Deputy Prime Minister Božo Petrov will give a statement shortly.
In the meantime, HDZ general secretary Milijan Brkić and political secretary Tomislav Čuljak did not want to comment on the Kovačić’s statement. “We have not heard his statement”, said Brkić and Čuljak to journalists. HDZ vice president Damir Jelić asked reporters to contact party spokesperson Ivan Jabuka.
