ZAGREB, September 20, 2018 – Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković said on Thursday that he had met and briefly spoken to Slovenian Prime Minister Marjan Šarec during a working dinner for EU leaders held in Salzburg on Wednesday.
“We met yesterday, I talked to everyone, as much as the circumstances allowed. We did not have a scheduled meeting, and to remove any dilemma – nobody had asked for a bilateral meeting, but we did talk. It was our first meeting and I believe that our dialogue will continue with the aim of developing good relations and resolving the outstanding border issue,” Plenković said before the start of an informal EU summit.
“It is important that we approach the problems that we have had for years in a responsible and mature way. There is good will on my part and of the Croatian government, and I believe there is good will on Slovenia’s part as well,” Plenković told reporters.
