The poll shows that the ninth parliamentary constituency remains HDZ territory.

RTL and Jutarnji List are continuing with their poll of ten parliamentary constituencies ahead of elections on 11 September. On Wednesday evening, they announced the results for the ninth parliamentary constituency, which covers Lika-Senj County, Zadar County, Šibenik-Knin County and northern part of Split-Dalmatian county. Traditionally, this has been the best parliamentary constituency for HDZ, reports RTL on August 24, 2016.

At the last year’s elections, HDZ’s Patriotic Coalition won 49.5 percent of votes, followed by SDP’s Croatia Is Growing Coalition (26.0 percent), MOST (15.1 percent), and Živi Zid (3.1 percent). HDZ’s coalition won 8 seats in Parliament, SDP’s coalition 4 seats, and MOST 2 seats.

According to results of the poll, about 60 percent of voters will vote in September. HDZ has the support of 43.4 percent of voters, followed by SDP coalition (24.2 percent), MOST (6.8 percent), Živi Zid (3.9 percent), and an independent candidate list led by Stipe Petrina (3.4 percent). At last year’s elections, Stipe Petrina entered Parliament as a candidate for MOST, but he later left the party. There are 12.3 percent of voters who say they will vote in the elections, but are still not sure whom they will support. The threshold for entering Parliament is five percent.

As for seats in Parliament, HDZ would get 8 seats, SDP coalition 5 seats, and MOST would get 1 seat. In comparison with last year’s elections, SDP coalition would gain one seat, while MOST would lose one seat.

Asked who would be the best choice for prime minister, the majority of respondents chose HDZ president Andrej Plenković (34.6 percent), followed by SDP president Zoran Milanović (23.1 percent), MOST president Božo Petrov (9.3 percent), Zagreb Mayor Milan Bandić (8.1 percent), and Živi Zid leader Ivan Vilibor Sinčić (3.1 percent).

After polls for three constituencies (thirdfifth, and ninth), HDZ has the same number of seats as last year, SDP coalition now has two seats more, while MOST has two seats less.

On Thursday evening, RTL will announce the results of the poll for the eight constituency (Istria, Rijeka and surrounding areas).
