Wonderful illustrations for magical animal labels for wine bottles.
An increasing number of local producers of various products are resorting to professional and exceptionally imaginative solutions coming from the top Croatian young and creative minds – designers, artists, copywriters, illustrators, and other experts, reports journal.hr on June 27, 2016.
One of them is Vedran Klemens, an illustrator and designer whose work excites both those who know well his creations and those who are being introduced to them for the first time. The latest such treat are his excellent illustrations for the Mežnarić wines’ label and packaging. Mežnarić winery is located near Varaždin, in an area famous for its wines and about 15 vineyard manors, mostly dating from the 19th century.
There is always something magical about Vedran’s illustrations, something special and out of this world, even if it was made as a solution for an “ordinary” product label. For Mežnarić winery, which is his new client, he made a series of illustrations of humanized animals, each of them holding a glass (or even several glasses) of wine. Among them are a deer disguised as a French courtier, wild boar gymnasts, wizard owl, frog which definitely looks like a silent film star Charlie Chaplin (although it is maybe just a portrayal of a gentleman with a hat), swan ballerinas, as well as an octopus Roman emperor whose glass is, expectedly, the fullest one. But, that is not all. This merry group also includes a poodle making a selfie, and a tigress posing as Botticelli’s Venus. In other words, the illustrator portrays a fantastic animal world where characters live and enjoy the sensory delights of life, in this case – a good wine.
Vedran Klemens has a Behance profile where anyone interested in this kind of artistic work or intrigued by his imagination can see what he has created until now.
