A Good Day for Croats in Football

Dejan Lovren, Domagoj Vida, and Nikola Kalinić all scored in their matches yesterday.

Croatian international Dejan Lovren scored in Liverpool’s away victory against Crystal Palace (4-2).

 

Lovren scored a goal in the 21st minute to take the lead, putting the “Reds” up 2-1. The other goals for Liverpool came from Can (16), Matip (44), and Firmino (71).

 

The stopper for the Croatian National Football team, Domagoj Vida, was the striker for Dynamo Kiev who met Karpaty in the 13th round of the Ukrainian championship, winning with a score of 4-1 (2-0).

 

Vida, who played the entire match for Dinamo, scored a goal, making the game 2-0 in the 28th minute.

 

Former Croatian National Team captain Darijo Srna played the entire match for Shakhtar who as hosts outplayed Čornomorec with a 2-0 (2-0), while another former Croatian international, Eduardo da Silva, watched the Shakhtar victory from the bench for the reserves.

 

Nikola Kalinić scored the goal for Fiorentina to win away at Bologna in the 10th round of Serie A. In the 31st minute, the Croatian was played a long ball into the box and was tripped from behind right on the penalty spot – the referee calls a penalty for Fiorentina.

 

Kalinić nailed the ball in the back of the net, scoring the penalty for his sixth goal in the last four games.

 

Mateo Kovačić played all 90 minutes for Real Madrid in their 4-1 win against Alaves.
