Cedevita Loses First Semi-final Game in Belgrade

It was a thriller that went into overtime, Cedevita had a chance for the win in the very last seconds of the game but did not make the final shot. It ended 97-88 for the home team

Cedevita lost the opening game of ABA League Play-off semi-finals against Crvena Zvezda in Belgrade, March 15, 2016. Cedevita were the ones that were in the lead (by six points) at halftime after they have gone on an 18-3 run between 11th and 17th minute and turned the 24-16 score for Crvena Zvezda into a 34-27 lead in their favor. However, Zvezda managed to make it anybody’s game quickly after the beginning of the second half and it stayed that way until the end of the regular game time.

Jacob Pullen had the chance to give his team the victory in the dying seconds, but his three-point attempt missed the target. The game went Zvezda’s way in the opening three minutes of the overtime when they achieved a 7:0 run. There was no chance of return for Cedevita, as the energy of the home side prevailed and they confirmed their home court advantage in this semi-final series.

The return game is scheduled for next Tuesday in Zagreb.
