How to connect 7 different sports in 11 races over just 3 days, while integrating gastronomy, untouched nature and culture? The answer is in Slavonia, of course.
Giving the Slavonian region and Croatia an event never before seen in the country, the Papuk Extreme Challenge in Orahovica will attract more than 5,000 people to the town and Papuk Nature Park this June, reports HRTurizam on May 26, 2018.
Conceived by the idea of the Orahovica Swimming Club with ten other clubs form all around Croatia, the Papuk Extreme Challenge is the first outdoor festival in Orahovica that aims to be the most significant sports, tourism, and gastronomic spectacle ever held in Croatia, said the organizers. The entire event will be held on the Papuk slopes along the ‘Jezero’ excursion site.
“Visitors will have the opportunity to taste Slavonian specialties from our vibrant gastronomic offer and camp at the scene of the event, Orahovica Lake, or stay in the nearby accommodation. Our idea of this festival is exclusively eco-oriented. No waste will be left behind in nature because we recognize that we are blessed with our environment and our beautiful Papuk, which is a true gift from God,” says Nives Smolčić of the Papuk Extreme Challenge.
