April 25, 2019 – After defending the Croatian championship, Dinamo will try to do the same in the Croatian Cup against Rijeka next month.

Dinamo and Rijeka will meet in the final of the Croatian Cup, which will be played in Pula at Aldo Drosina Stadium on May 22nd.

Dinamo advanced to the final of the Croatian Cup after defeating Osijek 2:0 at Maksimir. Dinamo’s goals were scored by Olmo in the first half and Šunjić in the second half, reports Gol.hr.

Although Osijek had a higher percentage of ball possession and nearly twice as many shots on goal, most attempts were harmless to Livaković in goal.

Dinamo’s only serious action in the first half resulted in a goal, which came in the 18th minute. Most of the work was done by Bruno Petkovic, who received a ball at the top of the box, dribbling through several players before finding Dani Olmo, who routinely scored for 1:0.

Osijek had two promising situations in the first half. The first was 27 minutes into the match when Pilj’s long throw into the box was deflected by Dinamo keeper Livaković for a corner. However, Boban was unable to capitalize on his chance from the corner kick.

In the second half, the first serious attack came only in the 76th minute. Dinamo’s Oršić had a free kick from 30-meters, but Osijek goalkeeper Malenica hit it out for a corner. Olmo had a chance in the 78th minute, but his shot from 10-meters was inaccurate.

Dinamo managed to clinch the win in the 90th minute thanks to a counterattack which saw Ivan Šunjić score for 2:0.
