Dinamo impressively topped Anderlecht in Brussels in their second game of Europa League’s Group D.

Just like in the first round of the Europa League group stage when Dinamo shattered the favorite Fenerbahce in Zagreb, the Croatian champion did not disappoint in the second round against Anderlecht in Brussels. The Zagreb club celebrated with a win and two away goals by Hajrović and Gojak to crush the Belgian giant 0:2, reports on October 4, 2018.

Dinamo took the lead already in the19th minute when Izet Hajrović’s penalty found the back of the net. The penalty was called after Ognjen Vranješ took down Bruno Petković inside the box. The Croatian champion had three great opportunities in the first half, but Olmo, Gojak and Oršić were unable to capitalize on their chances.

Dinamo almost came one step closer to the victory just 18 seconds after Anderlecht’s Ognjen Vranješ was booked for a double yellow and sent off the pitch. And just four minutes later, the Zagreb side could have increased the advantage again though Izet Hajrović shot straight at the Anderlecht keeper – and in the 59th minute, Olmo’s great chance just missed the goal.

Dinamo’s time finally came in the 69th minute, and thus solved the final outcome of the game. Amer Gojak fired a shot from 20 meters out, the ball deflected off an Anderlecht player and ended up in the net for 0:2. Dinamo defender Kevin Theophile-Catherine also received a red card in the final moments of the match.

Croatian footballers Ivan Santini and Antonio Milić played all 90 minutes in the Anderlecht shirt.

In the other match of Group D, Fenerbahce beat Spartak Trnava 2:0, with both goals by Islam Slimani (52nd, 69th).

On the Europa League Group D table, Dinamo leads with 6 points, Fenerbahce and Spartak have 3 points, while Anderlecht is at the bottom of the group with two defeats.

Dinamo’s next Europa League game is October 25th when they visit Spartak in Trnava. The game will be played in front of an empty stadium as the Slovak club serves a penalty.
