Fantela and Marenić Win the European Sailing Silver

More good news from the Croatian sailing team as the Zadar’s duo won yet another medal in the Olympic year.

Šime Fantela and Igor Marenić won the silver medal in the Open European Sailing Class 470 Championship on April 12, 2016, which was held in Palma De Mallorca. The renowned sailing duo from Zadar entered the final race from the first position but lost the gold as French team finished it in front of the Croatians.

Šime Fantela and Igor Marenić are reigning World Champions, as they won the gold medal in 470 World Championships in February in Argentina.

This is the sixth European medal for Fantela and Marenić, and this success is another proof of their great form. It is more good news for the Croatian Sailing Team, as the Olympic games are scheduled in just a few months time.
