More fines for Hajduk this season…

Saša Pavličić-Bekić, the disciplinary judge of the Croatian First Football League (HNL), has decided on a punishment for Hajduk after the savage and chauvinistic outburst by fans during the derby against Rijeka last weekend. The game ended 1:1.

Prvahnl.hr comes forward with an explanation of the punishment on March 15, 2017.

“In the match between Hajduk – Rijeka, the Torcida fan group in the north grandstand burned, on several occasions, a large number of pyrotechnic devices, chanted cries full of hate, discrimination, racism and chauvinism, and brought banners with xenophobic and offensive content. The match was interrupted twice: during the 55th minute for three and a half minutes for throwing torches into the field of play, and in the 90th minute when a masked hooligan entered the field with a metal rod in his hand in an attempt to attack the referee of the match. Upon completion of the game, a bottle of water struck the president of HNK Rijeka in the VIP lodge. Since this is in direct violation of Article 67 and 88 of the DP HNS for league matches played at the City Stadium Poljud, Hajduk has been punished with playing the next two games without spectators in the stadium and fined in the amount of 80,000 kuna.”
