October 1, 2023 – What a day to be a Hajduk fan. Not only has the club surpassed a historic 100K Hajduk members, but Hajduk showed their fans how much they mean to them with a crucial derby win against Dinamo to stay at the top of the league!

On Thursday, Hajduk Split confirmed it exceeded 100,000 members for the first time in the club’s history. The mobilization of Hajduk’s fans will probably not stop at that figure, as their goal is to conclude 2023 with 112,000 members. The club is 112 years old.

This incredible figure puts Hajduk at the very top of Europe for club members. Among the German clubs where the membership model is the standard, only a few manage to exceed this figure every year. At the moment, only Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, FC Koln, Eintracht Frankfurt, and Schalke, as well as HSV in the 2nd Bundesliga, have managed to do so.

This incredible feat was celebrated at Poljud on Sunday ahead of the ‘eternal derby’ against Dinamo. The stunning choreography spanned the entire stadium, reading ‘sto iljada’ (or 100 thousand), which you can see in the header photo above.

But the celebrations were not limited to Poljud, as they began on Saturday night with a spectacular flare display on the Riva. Even before the Riva spectacle, more than 3,000 Hajduk fans filled the stands of Hajduk’s auxiliary field, where Hajduk had their last training session before the derby. They stayed for about 20 minutes and supported the team with songs before heading to the Riva.

It all concluded on Sunday as Hajduk and Dinamo met in the highly anticipated derby of the SuperSport HNL 10th round at Poljud. Emir Sahiti’s goal in the 59th secured the win for Hajduk, keeping them at the top of the league with 21 points and 9 games played, while Dinamo is in 3rd with 16 points and a game in hand.
