The Croatian Football Federation is looking to change the national team’s coat of arms after their achievement at the 2018 World Cup.
The coat of arms worn by the ‘Bronze Generation’ in 1998 and the ‘Silver Generation’ of the 2018 World Cup, as well as the jerseys of all young teams, will get a new look, announces HNS on October 5, 2018.
In a contest which opened on October 5, HNS will reward the three best designs, from 35,000, 15,000, and 10,000 kuna. The visual proposal of the coat of arms must include national team features (by the author’s choice) and the “HNS” acronym or “Croatian Football Federation” written.
“The present coat of arms was created by the academic sculptor Marijan Zaradić in 1972, and since then, that coat of arms has consistently represented HNS, with minimal changes in 1990 and 2013. The recognizable coat of arms has been worn by the ‘Bronze Generation’ in 1998 and the ‘Silver Generation’ at the 2018 World Cup, as well as the jerseys of all young teams and other HNS teams. After winning the silver medal in Russia, the Croatian Football Federation opens a new chapter, which is to be marked by a new, modern coat of arms,” writes HNS on their official website.
In November, HNS will announce their three favorite designs, and in December, they will reveal the coat of arms that will be worn by all HNS teams.
You can find the contest details on the official Croatian Football Federation website.
