The Croatian shooter has won the gold medal in the trap discipline of the shooting tournament in Rio
August 8. 2016 is the date of the first Croatian medal at the Rio Olympics, as shooter Josip Glasnović won the gold after a final shootout against the Italian Giovanni Pellielo.
The shootout was all even after 15 shots, and it took an extra shootout, and after Pellielo has missed his fourth target in the extra shootout, Glasnović was calm enough to hit his, and to bring the first medal for Croatia.
This is the second gold medal in a row at the Olympics, as Glasnović’s teammate, Giovanni Cernogoraz won the gold at the London Olympics four years ago.
Congratulations to our shooters, and we hope this will be a big boost for other Croatian athletes in Rio, as the ice is broken now in terms of winning the medals.
