Jug beat Olympiakos 11-8 in the quarter-finals of the water polo Champions League
Jug faced Olympiakos in the quarter-final match of the LEN Champions League in Budapest on May 25. 2017. It was a replay of last year’s final, and the winner was once again the famous club from Dubrovnik.
Jug players started the game in a great shape, and the first half ended with a 7-2 score. Marko Bijač in goal was perfect, and the attack was so efficient, that the Greek team seemed to be left without any chance.
In the third quarter, the Croatian team relaxed a bit too much, and Olympiakos managed to level the score. Fortunately for the water-polo fans in Croatia, the team got back on the winning track and scored four more goals to secure the place in the semi-finals.
In the next round, on Friday, Jug will play the Italian side Pro Recco, their well-known rivals.
