Croatia national team captain Luka Modrić will be on the squad list that head coach Slaven Bilić announces on Monday for the Nations League fixtures against Czechia, Spain and England.
Modrić has confirmed to Bilić and Croatian Football Federation (HNS) president Marijan Kustić that he remains available for the national team in the new edition of the Nations League. The legendary international career of a player who has left an indelible mark across 202 caps for Croatia and led the country to its greatest successes will thus continue.
“Of course I’m delighted by Luka’s decision, because we all know what he represents and means for Croatia, both on and off the pitch. I’m especially pleased that after 14 years we’ll be working together again, sharing the strong ambition for Croatia to be strong, successful and on a par with the best in the world,” said head coach Slaven Bilić.
The head coach will unveil the squad list on Monday ahead of the September gathering for matches against Czechia (26 September, in Prague), Spain (29 September, in Seville), England (3 October, in Rijeka) and Spain again (6 October, in Split).
