Juventus beat Monaco 2:1 in the second leg of the Champions League semifinals in Turin.

The Juventus win last night in Turin gave the Italian club a 4:1 aggregate over Monaco, advancing them to the Champions League finals which will be held next month.

While we were lucky enough to watch two Croats compete in the match last night, there was only one victor in the battle, and that was Mario Mandžukić.

A hero of the match, read media headlines across Europe, Mandžukić fought hard in the first 30 minutes to break through Croatian national and Monaco goalkeeper Danijel Subašić. While the Croat made some incredible saves that kept Monaco in the game in the first half, Mandžukić managed to find the back of the net in the 33rd minute after an assist from Dani Alves, giving Juventus the lead with 1:0.

The celebration was even brighter, and Mandžukić jumped to the stands to bury himself amongst his supporters. This was the second goal for Mario Mandžukić in the Champions League this season.

In the 45th minute, an incredible punch from Subašić after a Juventus corner kick found the foot of Dani Alves, who managed to bury the ball in the back of the net to make the score 2:0. The game ended 2:1.

Juventus will play in the Champions League final in Cardiff on June 3, 2017. This will be the ninth final for Juventus in this most prestigious European competition, and they will most likely face Real Madrid who compete in the second leg of the semifinals tonight against Atletico Madrid. Real Madrid has lost only three of the 14 Champions League finals they have competed in.
