Modrić to USA Euphoria Continues: “Luka Would be Most Intelligent Player in MLS History”

Rumors have sparked international media that Luka Modrić could soon leave Real Madrid and continue his career in the MLS.

Zlatan Ibrahimović has recently arrived at the Major League Soccer (MLS) in the United States, and the miraculous Swede has already stunned America with his arrival. Ibra’s current star status can be compared to the most famous Hollywood actors, but it seems that if Luka Modrić came to the United States, Zlatan’s fame could soon be forgotten, reports Index.hr on April 24, 2018.

The rumors of Modrić coming to the MLS were sparked from a recent interview for Swedish SVT Sport.

“I’ve always said that I would like to finish my career at Real Madrid; we have another two years in my contract, and I’m happy. But you never know what can happen, and if I don’t finish my career at Real, maybe I can imagine my career ending in the MLS,” the captain of the Croatian football team said.

Modrić’s contract with Real Madrid will expire in 2020, meaning that a potential move to America would be at 34 years of age.

American journalist Connor Fleming is particularly pleased with the potential of Modrić on American turf.

“Modrić can come at 40 or 50 years old; it does not matter. In the past ten years at Tottenham and Real, he has shown that he is not old. His mastery and incredible football thinking would be the nightmare of any American coach. For him, physicality is not important; he is a hyper-intelligent magician,” wrote Fleming, who continued: “Everyone honors Thierry Henry and Andrea Pirlo, but I claim that Modrić, who was in UEFA’s team of the season three times, would be the most intelligent footballer in the history of the MLS.”

Connor also shared this video as proof to his readers:

“If Modrić inspired only one young American to try to copy his game, we would soon become a better football nation. The arrival of Modrić would crash the MLS stigma as a retirement league, and this would be the beginning of MLS as a center for children who want to learn to dictate the tempo, with Luka Modrić as the director,” concluded American sports journalist.
