Rijeka loses 1:2 to Olympiacos in the first-leg of the Champions League first round playoff match in Piraeus.
The Croatian champions were unlucky in Piraeus tonight after suffering a defeat against Greek champions Olympiacos.
Rijeka took the lead in the 42nd minute before Olympiacos equalized in the 66th minute. From the 83rd minute, Rijeka played with a man down and after the third minute of extra time, Olympiacos clinched the victory for a final score of 2:1.

Matjaž Kek’s team took the lead in the 42nd minute when Heber’s shot found the right corner of the net, shocking the famous Greek club. Rijeka was up 0:1.
Olympiacos put the pressure on and Rijeka defended successfully until the 66th minute when Vadis Odjidja’s strong shot could not be defended by Rijeka’s goalkeeper Sluga, making the score 1:1.
In the 82nd minute, Rijeka’s Leonard Žuta received his second yellow card, forcing him off the pitch. Rijeka played the rest of the match with a man down.
In the last 15 minutes, Rijeka’s exhaustion was apparent, and in the third minute of extra time, Alaixys Romao of Olympiacos scored the winning goal. The final score ended 2:1.
