PPD Zagreb Accomplish Mission Impossible in Mannheim

Total Croatia News

The Croatian champions are through to the quarter-finals of EHF Champions League after they won against Rhein-Neckar Löwen

It was an amazing game in Mannheim on March 27. 2016, as PPD Zagreb traveled to Germany one goal behind Löwen. There were not too many believers in Zagreb win, but coach Veselin Vujović was one of those few that believed, as we reported earlier. It was a sensational win at the end.

All Zagreb players were up to the task, and although the hosts were in the lead for more than fifty minutes of the game, in the last seven minutes Zagreb has equalised, and it was clear that Löwen players were starting to feel the pressure. With two minutes left on the clock, Zagreb got in front leading by two goals, and kept the lead until the end of the match.

All players are to be commended, not to single out any of them; it is probably the best thing to do and praise coach Veselin Vujović, who kept his team calm even when they were five goals behind the hosts, and as a result, his players finished the game with 72% shot efficiency.

PPD Zagreb will face PSG in quarter-finals.
