PPD Zagreb Plays Return Match Against PSG

Total Croatia News

Zagreb lost the first match at home with an eight goal difference, so anything but a farewell to the competition would be a huge surprise.

PPD Zagreb plays the second leg match of the quarterfinals of the EHF Champions League on May, 1. 2016. Even though they have accomplished one big surprise against Lowen in the last stage of the competition, the comeback in this occasion would be a miracle as no team ever has come back after losing with such a difference at home.

PSG coach Noka Serdarušić said he could not see how Zagreb could turn the situation around after they lost 20-28 in the first-leg quarter-final match at home. Even if the Croatian side possesses all the will in the world ahead of the return fixture, it ‘s hard to find reasons to contradict Serdarušić, and it would seem his players agree.

“I don’t think the score really reflected the difference between the two teams,” said PSG’s pivotman Igor Vori in Zagreb last Saturday after his team secured their first quarter-final victory. “I want to congratulate my compatriots for what they’ve done up to this point, but I can’t see them qualifying this Sunday.”

PPD Zagreb, who will again miss Luka Stepančić, Luka Šebetić and Sandro Obranović today in the French capital, will at least want to give a good impression during the game. Kickoff for the match is scheduled 17.00 CET.
