The dynamic duo do it again!

Croatian rowing duo Martin and Valent Sinković are having a brilliant start to the new season after winning their first gold medal in pairs at the Rowing World Cup in Belgrade, on Sunday reports HRT on June 3, 2018.

In the pairs final, which is the new discipline the duo decided to tackle last year, Martin and Valent led for the entirety of the race and clocked in a winning time of 6:19.37 minutes. In second place was the Czech Republic (6:20.99), and in third the rowers of Belarus (6:23.36).

The brothers started the race with momentum and gained an advantage which they calmly kept until the very end.

“We are delighted to win at the first big race in pairs; the feeling is perfect. We know we can do even better, this is our first race, and we are eagerly looking forward to the rest of the season,” said Valent Sinković.

“My brother and I won the first gold in the coxless pairs. We managed to break through, and after two silver medals that were very close, we are very happy! We need to race more to be more stable because we are not as good as we are in training. Two other World Cups, the European and World Championships are ahead of us, so we will stabilize. We can continue peacefully into the season and hope for another gold,” concluded Martin Sinković.
