Perković has another world title to add to her belt!

One of Croatia’s best athletes, Sandra Perković, has become world champion for the second time in her career, winning the gold medal at the World Athletics Championships in London for the best discus throw, reports Gol.hr on August 13, 2017.

Sandra Perković has repeated her success from Moscow four years ago when she became the world champion for the first time. To add to her two gold medals in world championships, Perković also has two Olympic golds, the first of which she won at the same stadium in London five years ago, and the second in Rio de Janeiro last year. Let’s also not forget that two years ago in Beijing, Perković won the silver and four consecutive titles in the European Championships. What an athlete!

The World Champion, who hails from Zagreb’s Dubrava, dominated the competition in London and was the only athlete to throw over 70m at the World Championships on Sunday.

In her second attempt, Perković threw even further for a whopping 70.31m. In her third attempt, Perković threw 70.28m and in her fourth, she threw 69.81m. This was enough to crown her the world champion discus thrower once again.

The silver was won by Australian Dani Samuels (29) who threw 69.64m and the bronze by France’s Melina Robert-Michon (38) who threw 66.21m.
