Shock Defeat For Croatian Handball Team Against Qatar at The Olympics

Croatia lost to Qatar 23-30 in the first match of the group stage of Olympic handball tournament

We wrote in our preview of the match that the first matches at the big tournaments tend to be tight, but the first match of the Croatian handball team at the Olympics, played on August, 7. 2016 was anything but tight.

Unfortunately, it was not what we hoped for, and what was the handball world expecting, an easy win for Croatia, but the other way around – Qatar dominated throughout the game and won in comfortable fashion at the end.

The Croatian team could not find any momentum at all, and the Qatari goalkeepers made sure the Croatian strikers could not find the goal, saving shots as it was a training session.

Croatia will face Argentina in the second round, and the win is now a must in that match, if the team is to get the planned result.
