HNS President Davor Šuker thanked FIFA for their wonderful organization of the World Cup in Russia and received a response from former teammate Zvonimir Boban.
Croatian Football Federation President Davor Šuker thanked FIFA for the fantastic organization of the World Cup in Russia, where Croatia sensationally won the silver, having lost to France in the final, reports Index.hr on July 23, 2018.
“After returning to Croatia and after the fantastic welcome that Zagreb’s citizens prepared for the Croatia national team, it is time to summarize the impressions the World Cup in Russia has left on us. The tournament organization was more than perfect in all aspects, including organizing competitions, security, logistics and administrative issues. Everything functioned wonderfully and smoothly and all the best support and services were provided to everyone. On behalf of our team, the delegation, guests and fans, and myself personally, I would like to express my gratitude to you and to all the FIFA officials and employees,” said the HNS President in a letter addressed to FIFA President Gianni Infantino.
“I’m sure this great tournament will serve as an additional inspiration for the further development of organizing future FIFA competitions. The success of the Croatia team is not only the result of talent and proven skills but also of the work of our Federation, clubs and other players in football development and the development of youth academies, where FIFA has been a great support,” Šuker added in the letter.
FIFA Deputy Secretary-General and part of Croatia’s ‘Bronze Generation’, Zvonimir Boban, answered:
“In the name of FIFA, and especially on behalf of our President, Gianni Infantino, I thank you for your kind words. All of us are grateful to hear such acknowledgments about this event, which you have described as the best World Cup so far. I personally and especially thank all the players who took part in the most important success in the history of Croatian sport. The scenes in Zagreb are proof of the unbelievable happiness and pride these players have provided to the Croatian people, and as one of those proud Croats, I want to express my unlimited gratitude.”
