Prominent Croatian doctor Niko Mihić has become the new head of medical services at Real Madrid.

European champions Real Madrid have made some changes to their medical team over the past few days, including replacing the head of their medical services, reports Gol.hr on July 6, 2017.

Real Madrid footballers should now be under the best care possible after well-respected Croatian doctor Niko Mihić has been named as the new head of medical services at the club.

Mihić was given the honor to replace the former leader of Real Madrid’s medical staff, Jesús Olmo, who had been the subject of controversy and discontent amongst some of Real’s players in the past. Surgeon Mikel Aramberri has also left the medical team due to external projects.

Mihić is, otherwise, on friendly terms with Real Madrid Croats Luka Modrić and Mateo Kovačić and is known to have close relations with the President of Real Madrid, Florentino Pérez.

Mihić acted as the director of the Early Prevention Unit of the reputable HM Hospitals group in Madrid and practiced in Montreal, Canada. Mihić also taught medicine at the Central European University and has been a medical consultant for airline companies Air France and KLM.

The Croatian doctor will dedicate his medical services exclusively to Real Madrid and will reside at the club’s training center Valdebebas as the team prepares for their upcoming tour in the United States.
