January 5, 2025 – 20-year-old Croatian skier Zrinka Ljutić won the slalom title in Kranjska Gora, Slovenia!
The incredible 20-year-old skier from Zagreb is now the leading female skier in the slalom. As of today, she is also the leader in the overall World Cup standings.
In the first run, the Croatian skier had the starting number 2, and in the end, she shared first place with Wendy Holdener. Ljutić won first place in the previous slalom in Semmering, Austria last week. It was her first World Cup victory of her career, and today her second.
“I’m speechless. I felt good and just wanted to step up at the finish and it worked. I thank everyone who came, this is just the beginning,” said Ljutić, who also became the first Croatian woman to win the slalom in Kranjska Gora.
Zrinka leads the overall women’s ski standings. She has 456 points, nine more than third-placed Sara Hector. In the women’s slalom standings, Zrinka has 309 points, four more than Camille Rast, who is second. Wendy Holdener is third with 265 points.
This victory brought Zrinka another 47,000 francs, which is around 50,000 euros. She has earned a total of 138,800 francs this season, or slightly less than 148,000 euros. In addition to points, Ljutić is currently the world’s leading skier in terms of earnings.
