An ode to Croatia’s defenders.
On the occasion of the Victory Day, Homeland Thanksgiving and the Day of Croatian Defenders, the City of Dubrovnik, in cooperation with cultural institutions and the Homeland War Museum of Dubrovnik, will organise a solemn celebration on Friday, August the 4th, on Stradun.
Beginning at 20:00 with the exhibition of historical war photos under the title of “Zoran Filipović 1991” at the Homeland War Museum in Fort Imperijal (Srdj), followed by a concert from the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra and klapa Subrenum. The concert will be conducted by maestro Đelo Jusić and will begin at 22:00 in front of the Church of St. Blaise, as a gift of the City of Dubrovnik to its fellow citizens. People will have the opportunity to hear some of the most beautiful songs dedicated to the Homeland and the City of Dubrovnik.
Apart from heartfelt patriotic songs in honour of those who risked and lost their lives during the defence of Dubrovnik and the Homeland War, the audience will also have the opportunity to listen to the recitals of the most beautiful verses of patriotic poetry read by the Dubrovnik actor Edija Jerteca.
