On Saturday 23rd September 2017, Slobodna Dalmacija reports that ACI Marina Veljko Barbieri in Slano has been rated the second-best marina on the Adriatic.
The Jutarnji list Nautical Patrol’s crew sailed across the Adriatic, visited 32 marinas and polled 1131 boaters. Outstanding results were achieved by one of the newest ACI Marinas’ on the Adriatic – “Veljko Barbieri” in Slano which opened in 2016. Considering the fierce competition between 31 other marinas, to be ranked 2nd is an excellent result and confirms its position as an up-and-coming marina of choice for boaters.
The Director of ACI Marina Veljko Barbieri, Danijela Crljen said:
“We are very happy that boaters have recognised our efforts. The award for the second-best marina in Croatia makes us very proud. Our motto is “A smile opens all the doors”, it is something I insist on from the beginning, both towards the guests and the staff at the marina. Kindness and individualised service are key to success in tourism”, reports Slobodna Dalmacija.
The ceremonial announcement of the best marinas in the Adriatic in 2017 was held in the presence of Tourism Minister Garija Cappelli and Director of the Croatian Tourist Board Kristijan Staničić.
Earlier in the season, Total Croatia Sailing wrote about Slano and the benefits of chartering a yacht from the ACI Marina Veljko Barbieri base. While Slano is only 27 km away from Dubrovnik, it feels worlds away in terms of crowds (both on the streets and the sea); it is nestled into a gorgeous, protected bay and its location offers incredible access to beautiful beaches and nearby islands.
Congratulations to the ACI Veljko Barbieri team, read more about why you should consider sailing from Slano here.
