September 24, 2018 – The Croatian passport reaches its highest level ever on the annual Henley Passport Index.
The 2018 Henley Passport Index has been released, and there has been a big jump for Croatia, which finds itself in 16th place in the global rankings, up five places from 21 last year.
In all, Croatian passport holders can now travel to 169 countries without visas. The Croatian passport is some way behind global leaders, Japan and Singapore, in usefulness, but far ahead of Afghanistan and Iraq, which came bottom of the 2018 rankings.
The Henley Passport Index is a ranking of all the passports of the world according to the number of countries their holders can travel to visa-free. The ranking is based on exclusive data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA), which maintains the world’s largest and most comprehensive database of travel information, and is enhanced by extensive in-house research.
