October 12, 2018 – A look back in time at village live near Zagreb more than 80 years ago in our latest video of Croatia from yesteryear.
One of the things that amazes me about Croatia is the sheer diversity of culture in all its regions. It has one of the most varied regional cuisines in Europe, but it really comes into its own with its folk costumes and village traditions. It seems that almost every village has their own tradition which makes it unique and the range of folk costumes throughout the country is incredible, each unique in its own way. Croatians do not need much of an excuse to party, and one can catch a lot of events with these traditional costumes are on show throughout the year.
But there is nothing quite like seeing the costumes in everyday life, and today’s video from the past is a delightful snapshot of village life near Zagreb way back in 1934. Vibrant indeed!
