(July 18, 2017 – London, UK) “The wildfires that occurred and spread across the surrounding areas of the City of Split since early Monday morning are currently subsiding and expected to be further subdued and put fully under control. The Split Meteorological Centre is forecasting a rapid decrease of the northern “bura” wind, this combined with the united efforts of 384 firefighters, 102 vehicles and canadairs indicate the wildfires will be thoroughly suppressed in due course. All the flights to Split from the UK are on schedule, foreign visitors to Split and central Dalmatia are unharmed, and there were no cancellations whatsoever. “
