Jadrolinija’s passenger ship Dubrovnik will keep connecting the ports of Bar and Bari
The biggest Croatian shipping company Jadrolinija should soon renew its cooperation agreement with its Montenegrin counterpart Barska plovidba, reported Café de Montenegro on April 2, 2018.
As the management of Barska plovidba hasn’t yet managed to acquire a used ferry that would operate their line Montenegro – Italy, they will continue to use the services of Jadrolinija for the second year in a row. The Croatian passenger ship Dubrovnik will keep transporting passengers from the Montenegrin port of Bar to the Italian port of Bari.
Ljubo Kočović, President of the Board of Directors of Barska plovidba, stated their representatives are currently negotiating with Jadrolinija’s management, and announced a cooperation contract should be signed soon.
Kočović reiterated that the Montenegrin shipping company hasn’t abandoned their plan for acquisition of a new vessel. They are currently carrying out a profitability analysis for the line Bar-Bari-Bar.
The transadriatic service has been operating for the last 50 years as a regular line, only getting cancelled in December 2016 when the company decided to replace the ferry Sveti Stefan 2 with a new vessel.
