We’ve written about so many festivals and various manifestations this summer, we’ve lost track. With such an insane number of attractive events – be it music and film festivals, gourmet bonanzas and other pleasant activities people tend to enjoy, a certain audience group gets overlooked most of the time.
Our four-legged friends are more than deserving of their own version of a gourmet fair or a coastal fešta, don’t you think? It’s for that reason that Crikvenica city decided to organise a whole weekend dedicated to pets of all sorts, starting on Saturday, September 30. The manifestation has been in the works for quite some time, but got postponed twice due to bad weather. Now, as the forecast calls for a couple of warm, sunny days, our best friends will finally get their well-deserved weekend!
All planned events will take place in the centre of Crikvenica and Podvorska dog beach. We’re up for a pet-themed fair, a carnival featuring a promenade for dogs from the beach to the centre, a cooking show for pets, a demonstration of dog behaviour training and trick-learning, a bike race for pets and their owners… There’s no shortage of amusing and useful activities both the animals and their humans are sure to enjoy.
Children will also have a blast at the art class the organisers prepared, along with a special pet-themed theatre play.
The most entertaining event of the weekend will surely be a pet show featuring those participants who don’t happen to have a pedigree, but make up for it with their fabulous personalities. The lovable mutts will show off their skills, competing for awards in multiple categories: the best hairstyle, the most mischievous pet, the most amiable pet and the most skilled one out there!
The manifestation aims to raise awareness about the important role pets have in people’s lives, as well as to remind all visitors about the responsibility of the role of a pet owner.
