The fast-growing start-up FlixBus, who entered the Croatian market last June, has just offered a new experience for planning your travel.
If you use Google Maps when planning your travel, you’ll be happy to know you can now find FlixBus connections! With airlines, railways and local public transport, all 120,000 FlixBus daily connections are now available to each user of Google Maps around the world. FlixBus has thus become the first international and domestic bus operator in Croatia, and the region, that has integrated Google Transit route planning, reports HRTurizam on March 13, 2017.
“Maps are a very important partner in our concept of mobility – while our buses connect 1,000 destinations, Google Maps combine different forms of transport. Together we can contribute to the improvement of the concept of shared mobility,˝ said Daniel Krauss, CIO and co-founder of FlixBus.
Here’s how it works. The passenger will select their destination within Google Maps and select the option of public transport as their preferred way of travel. When selecting bus transport, users will be able to find FlixBus connections.
“Through this, Google users will be able to find all relevant information related to FlixBus travel including place of departure and arrival, duration of travel between stations, and local connections to the final destination. Google also provides a direct connection with FlixBus sales,˝ added Krauss.
With the free FlixBus mobile application in the Croatian language, for both iOS and Android, FlixBus optimizes the travel experience. The application provides research on destinations and ticket sales, and additional services such as mobile tickets and bus check-ins, navigation to bus stations, and real-time information via notifications.
To ensure the highest possible level of quality, FlixBus cooperates with OpenGeo who specializes in sustainable mobility. In the near future, FlixBus will present the first international buses with information about geolocations in real time on Google Maps.
