ZAGREB, August 10, 2018 – A total of 2.6 million arrivals and 11.9 million nights were generated in commercial accommodation in Croatia in June 2018, which is 4% more arrivals and 1.5% less nights than in the same month in 2017, while in the first six months of 2018, there were 6 million arrivals and 22 million overnights, up 12% and 9% respectively on the year.
According to a report released by the national statistical office on Friday, in June 2018 domestic tourists generated 234,000 arrivals, up 13% on the year, and 781,000 nights, up 14.4% from June 2017.
In the same period, foreign tourists recorded 2.4 million arrivals and 11.1 million nights, up 3.2% and down 2.4% respectively compared to June 2017.
Germans recorded the highest number of overnight stays – 2.4 million or 21.8% of all nights generated by foreign tourists. Austrians follow with 1.1 million nights, making up 10.2% of nights made by foreign tourists.
