Booking.com, the site with more than a billion guests who have stayed in a variety of accommodation facilities including 30 different types of buildings such as hotels, apartments, villas, hostels, farms, bungalows and ships, have collected reviews of passengers in order to put together the best idyllic island oasis for a perfect holiday in 2017.
Booking.com compiled seven island destinations as recommended by guests of Booking.com, and one sweet surprise on the list is one of our beautiful Croatian islands: Koločep.
Covered with pine trees and carob and surrounded by crystal clear waters, Koločep is the smallest and quietest of the three Elaphiti islands in the Dubrovnik region. Booking.com states that the island is situated with two irresistible villages located in small bays, in which only 163 inhabitants live with no cars. The idyllic way of life this island offers is spent strolling through olive groves and visiting pre-Romanesque churches, concludes Booking.com.
In addition to the island of Koločep, the list also includes the heavenly islands of Pantelleria – Sicily, Isles of Scilly – United Kingdom, Meganisi – Greece, Saint John – Caribbean, Island Rishiri – Japan, and Isola di Capraia, Italy.
This is of course great promotion for Croatia, and in particular the island of Koločep. Reviews from the guests themselves are always considered the most valuable, and all of the destinations on this list received more than a 95% passing review.
We can only assume that tourism to Koločep island will boost after this one!
