Low cost carrier Monarch Airlines will expand its operation from the UK to Zagreb by extending its two seasonal routes (London Gatwick and Manchester) throughout the winter and has plans to add services from Birmingham to Zagreb, EX-YU Aviation reported on May 5 2017.
Monarch’s Chief Commercial Officer, Ian Chambers, said that this means that the Zagreb market will open for customers from the north-west and the south of UK and added that the airline is also considering introducing flights from Birmingham to Zagreb in 2018.
Monarch introduced three services a week connecting Zagreb and Gatwick as well as two weekly services connecting Zagreb and Manchester a week ago, on April 28 2017 (click here to read more).
Monarch Airlines is the third low-cost carrier to offer flights between the UK and Zagreb, but the two previous airlines have not been successful – Wizz Air’s Zagreb – Luton service was discontinued in February 2011 and easyJet’s Zagreb – Gatwick route came to an end in October 2014.
