The Main Office of the Croatian Tourism Board held a session of its council on Tuesday, where members adopted proposed names for new directors, who applied through a public tender

The offices are in Italy, France, Poland, Benelux, Germany, Russia and the United States. The tender also encompassed offices in Hungary and Slovakia, where offices were run by deputies without a director status, HrTurizam.hr reported on September 26, 2017.

“Croatia is today one of the most desirable tourism destinations, and to continue increasing our recognisability and presence on some of the highest emitting markets, we must continually advance and keep up with trends, applying innovative promotional means. I believe the appointed directors will use their knowledge, experience and enthusiasm to make a positive step forward and confirm Croatia as one of the most popular destinations,” pointed out Tourism Minister Gari Cappelli and added he expects from Office Directors a proactive approach in attracting new tourism segments and presenting offers which will position Croatia additionally as a year-round destination.

Main Office Director Kristjan Staničić emphasised that he expects from all directors a strong contribution to the realisation of strategic goals of Croatian tourism. “I believe this tender has yielded some of the best candidates whose work will give a strong and positive contribution to the future of Croatian tourism. I expect new, innovative and interesting suggestions which will clearly show the future activities of the offices. I will insist on a high level of professionalism and teamwork, as a quality network of offices is an especially important factor in the promotion of Croatia,” concluded Director Staničić.

New mandates were unanimously given to the following directors:

Nera Miličić for Germany (Deputy in Munich)
Viviana Vukelić for Italy (also covers Spain)
Agnieszka Anna Puszczewicz for Poland
Romeo Draghicchio for Germany (re-election)
Danijela Mihalić Đurica for France (re-election)
Ivan Novak for Benelux (re-election)
Ina Rodin for US (also covers Canada) – (re-election)
Rajko Ružička for Russia (also covers Ukraine and other regional markets) – (re-election)

As for the Office Director in Hungary and the same position in Slovakia, according to the words of Barbara Mesić, President of the Candidate Evaluation Commission for this tender, the Tourism Council was advised to repeat tenders for them both in the first half of 2018. The suggestion comes in an effort to increase the number of candidates with adequate competencies to present the Croatian Tourism Board on those markets.

As the Croatian Tourism Board pointed out, Council members also adopted the decision to establish the Commission for Joint Promotion in 2018 and the Commission for Strategic Projects in 2018.
