Tired of run-of-the-mill souvenirs like t-shirts and coffee mugs? You’ll like the announcement coming from Plitvice Lakes
Plitvice Lakes are upping their souvenir game: one of the most popular tourist destinations in the country has come out with an unusual product that is sure to spark attention from thousands of visitors. According to hrturizam, Plitvice are now the second destination in Croatia offering their very own perfume as an authentic, one-of-a-kind souvenir.
The perfume Plitvice was inspired by the richness of the local flora which counts more than 1.400 plant species, including 50 orchid varieties. Combined with the timeless beauty of world-renowned lakes and waterfalls, the natural treasures of Plitvice have led to creation of a unique perfume that will remind you of your visit to this remarkable corner of the Earth.

So, what do Plitvice smell like? The fragrance notes include one of the orchid varieties indigenous to the wider Plitvice area, moss which is essential to tufa growth in the National Park, and two iconic plants thriving in Lika and on Velebit mountain – plum and lily of the valley.
The idea was thought up by the team behind The Plitvice Times, the first tourist magazine in English language dedicated to promotion of the Lika region. According to one of its founders Ante Fumić, they realised that Plitvice Lakes have amazing tourism potential, but don’t offer enough top-quality products to provide visitors with added value and leave them with distinctive memories and emotions.
“You will rarely find any souvenirs beyond the local delicacies, various accessories, figurines and t-shirts. While those are all important and quite nice, our vision was headed in a different direction. We wanted to stand out in a way, all the while retaining a distinctive trait of Plitvice and Lika. The perfume Plitvice was the answer to our vision”, said Fumić, adding they hope the idea will be recognised on the market.
The perfume comes in a box hiding a sweet message under the lid: Fall in love, says the note, evoking an image of Plitvice’s waterfalls as the fresh scent lingers in the air. A truly outstanding souvenir you can actively use, and one which is sure to make a much better gift than any old magnet or coffee mug. Bravo!
You can order the perfume here at a price of $42.
