Croatia Wins Best Promotional Tourism Video at Travel Video Awards!

“I am extremely proud of my team in the Ministry that proactively and innovatively joined this project and created the video with HTZ, whose quality has been recognized by the world’s professional public,” said the Minister of Tourism.

The Croatian Tourist Board’s ‘Ambassadors of Croatian Tourism’ promotional video has won the prestigious ‘Travel Video Awards’ in the category of ‘Best Video by a Tourism Organization’. The video was selected by the professional and representative jury of the Citizine Network and the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB), reports 24 Sata on April 10, 2018. 

As stated by the Croatian Tourist Board, apart from the jury, the promotional video was also recognized by the public who, through online voting, proclaimed the Croatian video as the best promotional tourism video for 2017.

The ceremony was held in the center of Las Vegas, at House of Blues. Croatian Tourist Board director Kristjan Staničić accepted the award.

“With great pride and joy we received news about the nomination for our promotional video in the category of ‘Best Video by a Tourism Organization’, and winning this award brings us great satisfaction. This is confirmation that in the Croatian tourism community, together with our partners, we can create top-level promotional items that are internationally recognized and accepted by professionals, but also by many travel lovers around the world,” said Staničić. He added that special thanks go to everyone who, in any way, was engaged in the creation of the promotional video, and to all those who contributed to Croatia winning this valuable prize with their voices.

“Congratulations to all the finalists and nominees who presented their great projects. It is a matter of prestige to win the award in such strong competition,” Staničić added.

The ‘Ambassadors of Croatian Tourism’ video was filmed at various familiar locations in Croatia and included ten celebrities from the world of sports and arts, including Luka Modrić, Ivan Rakitić, Mario Mandžukić, Mateo Kovačić, Dejan Lovren, Dario Šarić, Marin Cilic, 2Cellos, Maksim Mrvica and Zrinka Cvitešić. A promotional breakthrough for the country, in addition to the well-known and successful personalities and famous Croatian destinations, the video also promotes other forms of the Croatian tourist offer, such as cultural and historical heritage, eno-gastronomy, active holidays, nautical tourism and natural beauties, among different segments of Croatian tourism.

“This award is proof of Croatia’s successful marketing position on foreign markets and confirmation of our progressive approach in presenting the tourism potential of our country around the world. Prizes were awarded in a total of 9 categories, in which more than 360 projects were submitted. Each category had four finalists. A total of 44 applications were received in the category of ‘Best Video by a Tourism Organization’, while the promotional videos of Croatia, Peru, Colombia and Jordan were the finalists. 

The Citizen’s Travel Video Awards is an organization founded by independent filmmakers and brands from all over the world who reward innovative and inspirational independent and branded videos.
