Share Istria Online Influencer Campaign Launched

On April 1, 2016 at Hotel Lone, Rovinj, the Istrian Tourist Board announced that the #ShareIstria campaign would be returning for the second year.

Launched in 2015 the campaign saw foreign online influencers travel around Istria in teams experiencing what the region has to offer competing for a cash prize. Travel Bloggers, Instagrammers, and Videographers were all creating content about their experience hoping to win the major cash prize of 10,000 Euros. It was eventually won by American Stephanie Be and Canadian Taylor Burke.

This year’s selection of online influencers are being flown to Croatia in business class from their home country thanks to the airline partner Turkish Airways. Once in Croatia the influencers are given access to a BMW car, accommodation and are provided with a 7-day itinerary to various hotels and sites. Once again the influencers will be competing by writing, photographing and creating videos to be shared online, this time for a number of prizes with a total value of 16,000 USD

Tourism has become one of the fastest growing industries, and the Istrian Tourist Board director Denis Ivošević proudly explained today that they plan to use this campaign to show how Istria is a “desirable lifestyle destination.” The foreign bloggers were announced at yesterday’s press conference which includes teams from the United States, Canada, Taiwan, China, Korea, Finland, Singapore, Thailand, United Kingdom, Turkey, and Malaysia.

The Share Istria campaign will span 12 weeks, with four influencers exploring Istria each week. The blog content, photos, and videos will be shared via their impressively large social networks using the hashtag #ShareIstria.
