The fact that Dalmatia is becoming an even more desirable destination for tourists from the West is further confirmed by the introduction of new airlines and routes to Split Airport.
Many new options have been introduced this season that will directly link Split with many European cities. Just over a week ago, Split Airport marked the introduction of KLM’s direct line between Amsterdam and Split, and on Sunday, Split Airport held a welcoming ceremony for the first direct flight from East Midlands to Split by the company Jet2com, reports Kastela.org on May 1, 2017.
“This is a story about the airline Jet2com, a company whose planes have been flying to Split Airport over the last few years, however, for the first time today we have contact with a completely new destination. Jet2com is a low-cost airline that surpassed Croatia Airlines in flights last year, flying from as many as 18 different destinations in the UK,” said Davor Cvitanović, head of commercial services at Split Airport.

Captain David Linney of Jet2com carried 74 passengers on the flight to Split on April 30, 2017, and eight passengers on the return flight from Split Airport to East Midlands.
Jet2com will link the East Midlands and Split during the season once a week, and it has been said that Split Airport and Jet2com are already in talks for next season to directly connect Split with several more UK destinations.
